Guide to Correct Measurements & Determining Size
To assure that your new Siegel’s uniform gives you the best fit, it is essential to take the time to find your proper measurements.
Find Your Measurements
Chest or Bust Measurement
Measure your chest by placing the tape measure directly under your armpits. Pull the tape snug, but not so tight that it is uncomfortable or binding. For women, find your proper bust measurement by measuring around the fullest part of the bust. Keep the measuring tape straight across the back, along the shoulder area. Again, pull tape so that there is no slack, but loose enough to allow slight movement.
Collar Measurement
To find your collar size, measure around your neck, and add ½” to determine the final measurement. Men should measure below the Adam’s apple.
Hip Measurement
Measure across the broadest part of the hips to determine your correct hip measurement. Keep the measuring tape in an even line around your hips and body. The measuring tape should be anywhere from 5” to 10” below your natural waist line.
Skirt or Pants Length Measurement
To determine your proper uniform skirt or pant length, measure from your natural waist line down to the hem line. For skirts, measure to the middle of the knee. For pants, in the front, the hem should hit the middle of your dress shoe, and in the back it should fall where the sole of your shoe meets the heel. Measure your inseam from the crotch to the hem, along the inside of the pant leg.
Sleeve Measurement
To measure sleeve length, hold your arms relaxed at your sides. Have someone measure from the middle of your back, across your shoulder, and to the bottom of your wrist.
Waist Measurement
Find your correct waist measurement, by following your natural waistline. Look for the area where your body is most narrow, above your hips. Keep the tape snug, but not too tight, in obtaining this measurement.
